Now in its seventh year, the Sustainable North Carolina Awards program honors organizations and individuals who are leading with successful triple bottom line approaches. This year’s expanded must-attend event is actually three events in one, featuring a sustainable business forum, awards dinner banquet, and tradeshow, as well as a keynote address by one of the world’s most influential management thinkers.

Keynote Address: Peter Senge

Peter Senge, the man who introduced the world to the concept of organizational learning, is now urging corporations to assume leadership roles in defining sustainable business models if they want to survive in the years to come. “Our real future lies in building sustainable enterprises and an economic reality that connects industry, society and the environment.” Dr. Senge has lectured extensively, translating the abstract ideas of systems theory into tools for better understanding of economic and organizational change. He was named a ‘Strategist of the Century’ by the Journal of Business Strategy, and his book The Fifth Discipline was identified by the Harvard Business Review as one of the seminal management books of the past 75 years.
